A majority of the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak may be in agreement with Kwadwo Twum Boafo when he advised the club to re-hire cult hero Samuel Boadu as head coach.
The Rainbow club has struggled to attain success, especially since the sacking of Samuel Boadu, who won three trophies in a space of two seasons at the club.
Reacting to Hearts’ current woes, Twum Boafo, who at one time was an administrator at the club during its most successful era, asserted that bringing back Boadu would be the way to go.
“Hearts of Oak made a big mistake in sacking Samuel Boadu, and unfortunately we know the history of Hearts… And me personally, I think Hearts of Oak should go back to Samuel Boadu; no disrespect to this particular coach. Hearts should bring back Boadu and give him three or fours to work… Because he has shown that he can achieve it,” he said on Max FM.
In comparison of how the club is currently run with the most successful era in its history, Twum Boafo noted that Harry Zakour, who led the club administration, was a Hearts of Oak ultra.
“When we were running Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakour was a supporter; he was an ultra so the right things were being done regardless of how limited they were… In this particular case, a few board members have hijacked Hearts of Oak, and our owner doesn’t have too much time like Harry Zakour had to supritend issues,” he added.
