2022 WCQ: Ethiopia hold Ghana to 1-1 draw

The Walia Ibex of Ethiopia held the Ghana Black Stars to a 1-1 draw in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The game which was played in South Africa was a must win for the Black Stars of Ghana but they missed the opportunity.

Ghana took the lead in the first half when Captain Andre Ayew curled in a freekick.

That was supposed to open the flood gates for Ghana but Ethiopia stun Ghana late in the second half.

Ghana went in search of the winner but could not grab it as the game ended 1-1.

Ghana are now tied on points with South Africa who play Zimbabwe later.
