Doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital have demanded an apology from the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwamena Mintah Akandoh.
This follows the unannounced visit by the Health Minister and Hon. Suhuyini, Member of Parliament for Tamale North, which led to a confrontation with the doctors on duty on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Appalled by the management of the hospital, Hon. Akandoh effected the termination of employment of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Adam Atiku, enraging the Ghana Medical Association— describing the act as an abuse of power.
New developments at the hospital indicate the doctors have declared an indefinite strike until an unqualified apology has been rendered to them by the Health Minister and Tamale North MP.
