Taekwando: Greater Accra dominate 14th Korean Ambassador’s Championships

Date:

The Greater Accra Region Team swept twenty-nine medals at the 2024 14th Korean Ambassador’s Taekwando Championships, which took place at the Trust Sports Emporium’s Ga Mashie Hall in Accra on Saturday, July 27.

The championships, organized in preparation for the 2026 Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal, had fans in awe of the excellent displays of skill at the Ga Mashie Hall.

Mr. Lartey Otu, president of the Ghana Taekwando Federation, has called for unity to “form a strong Taekwando fraternity” during his address at the event.

Volta Region came in second with 72 points, 113 points behind first-place Greater Accra Region, as Ashanti Region and Upper East finished third and fourth with 68 and 52 points, respectively.

HE K.S. Park, the Republic of Korea’s ambassador to Ghana, promised to help Ghana in her preparation for the Youth Olympics.

James Sedoh ended the event as the best male junior, while Zitta Tornyevah won the best female junior award.
