Tom Saintfiet poked fun at Otto Addo for his go-to tactics against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers on Monday night.
The former Gambia head coach, who was once linked to the Black Stars’ top job before the Ghana Football Association opted for the return of Otto Addo, chided Ghana’s formation.
As the home team, it was only logical that the Black Stars would go all out for the maximum points in a sensationally attacking manner against the Malians, whom they had already beaten in the first leg in Bamako.
The defensive approach, rather adopted by the Ghanaians, surprised the Malians, Sanfeit confirmed in the post-match press conference at the Accra Sports Stadium’s media room.
He further pointed out the cowardice of Ghana’s approach, insisting, “Ghana was afraid of us (Mali),” as he addressed the Ghanaian and international media.
