The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has advised against the pressing of the breasts of young girls just because they think they are too young to develop them.
According to Dr Addai, objects including box irons are used by some ignomoramus persons with such beliefs to press on the breasts of the girls at their tender ages.
She said at a free breast cancer education and screening event dubbed “Kick Breast Cancer Out,” that the act is barbaric and must be stopped.
The surgeon also warned against tampering with the breasts of babies by pressing hot water on them during their baths.
Dr Addai therefore advised parents and guardians to monitor closely the developments of their daughters’ for early detection of breast cancer, as children as young as 14 years have been reported developing the disease.
