Chelsea failed to beat 10-man Burnley at home despite scoring the first goal in first-half stoppage time.
The relegation threatened wouldn’t have had a dog chance of getting anything out this game after Assignon received his second yellow card after he appeared to have fouled Mudryk in his penalty box, resulting in a penalty that Cole Palmer coolly converted, but again, this is the new Chelsea.
Burnley found their equalizer soon after recess through Cullen’s splendid finish before Palmer restored the Blues’ lead in the 78th minute.
Mauricio Pochettino side’s failure to score a cushion goal was punished by Dara O’Shea’s headed goal from Josh Cullen’s corner to move the home side downwards to 11th position on the Premier League table.
