Pastors will opt out of their marriages if given the chance — Selina Boateng

Date:

Gospel singer, Selina Boateng has disclosed that many pastors and gospel ministers are enduring pains in marriages just to maintain their public image.‎

‎According to her, if the decision to walk away from marriage came without societal or religious judgment, divorce rates would have increased in Christian homes.

‎Speaking in a recent media interview, Selina Boateng indicated that the silence surrounding those marriage struggles and the fear of judgment always prevented many from seeking help or telling their truth.

‎“So much is happening behind closed doors. If we allowed people to speak freely, you’d be shocked at how many men of God and gospel musicians would admit they married the wrong person,” she said.

‎Selina Boateng noted that the divorce rate would go high should Christians talk about how their marriage was in a mess and advised the youth to seek the face of God before committing themselves in marriage.

‎“And the sad part? Once you’re married, you can’t even speak about what you’re going through. Even the people who pressured you into it wouldn’t be there to console you.”

‎“If people had the liberty to openly walk away from their marriages, divorce cases would shoot up like gunfire. It would be an eyesore because the numbers would be overwhelming,” she added.
