A man has been arrested for impersonating former defence minister Hon. Dominic Nitiwul.

The man, who identified himself as Joseph, paraded himself as a soldier at the 37 Military Hospital till his arrest on Monday, February 9, 2026.

According to the Hon. Nitiwul, the suspect had used his name to dupe a number of people, including a young man from Burma Camp, in recent times.

The suspect, Joseph, claiming to be from Dambai, however, denied allegations by the former minister.

On how he got access to the military uniforms, Joseph claimed he got them from Kantamanto where he sells second-hand clothes.
