The family of the late staunch Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as “Pooley”, are planning an unthinkable petition to the Overlord of the Ashantis.
Touched by his loyalty for Asante Kotoko SC, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II enrolled all five children of Pooley onto his educational fund, a laudable move of adopting them.
According to reports circulating in the Ashanti Region, the family of Pooley are against the inclusion of four of the children, claiming only two are his biological children.
Alex Manu, who is the Regional NCC Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Pooley confirmed his children are six to Nana Apinkra.
Mr Manu in an interview with Nana Darkwa Gyasi on the Sports Pack show on Max FM, said regardless of whether any of the children are Pooley’s or not, the family is out of order.
“Pooley, while he was alive, made me aware that his are six. Two, who are the oldest ones, are in Ivory Coast, while four are in Ghana. He presented them to me and Nana Apinkra. He could have even adopted the children, so how dare anyone say those children are not his?” Mr Manu said.
The actions of the family of Pooley have caused a widespread outrage amongst many, accusing them of being wicked and unjust.
