There is a high probability that Bofoakwa Tano may not be able to honor the MTN FA Cup semi-final clash against Dreams FC on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
According to the CEO of the traditional club, Alex Ababio, the MTN FA Cup committee, headed by Wilson Arthur, must fund their matchday expenses if they are to honor the much anticipated clash at the Sogakope WAFA park.
Bofoakwa defeated Access Bank Division One side Skyy FC 5-4 in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.
“The FA Cup committee must fund our costs while traveling if they truly want us to honor our FA Cup match against Dreams FC in Sogakope. If not, there is no way we will be able to secure funding and make the trip from Sunyani to Sogakope,” he said to a Kumasi-based radio station.
Despite recognizing the committee’s support from the start of the competition, Alex Ababio cited the level of bias his side had faced in the past whenever playing a match at WAFA Park.
