According to reports, Chelsea has initiated talks with Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun as part of their search for a new center forward. Balogun, a 22-year-old striker, had an impressive loan spell at Reims last season, scoring 21 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games.
Balogun, who was born in New York, recently made a decision regarding his international future and represented the senior national team for the USA, scoring his first goal against Canada last month.
His performances have caught the attention of clubs across Europe, including AC Milan and Inter Milan in Italy, Marseille and Monaco in France, and RB Leipzig in Germany.
While several clubs are interested, there is now a possibility that Balogun could remain in London. Football Transfers has reported that Chelsea has entered into discussions with the striker. Arsenal has set a £50 million price tag for Balogun, as he is expected to leave the club this summer in search of regular playing time but without the desire to go on another loan spell.
