Social media gives individuals a way to meet and communicate online, but it also gives students access to learning tools.

At the third speech and prize-giving day of Charles Wesley Academy School in Oyoko, Eastern Region, with the theme “Social media and its effects on academic excellence,” Dr. Annor-Frimpong, the school’s owner, advocated for restricted use of some social media platforms even though they have advantages for students.

He stated in a bid to improve the achievement of academic excellence, educational authorities must work together to ensure students’ restrictions on certain platforms he deemed might affect their quest for academic success.
