In an interview with Max 89.7 FM, Prophet Dr. Nana Aboh, the general overseer of the International Purefire Chapel, said that any biblical passage or rule prohibiting polygamy—the practice of taking several wives—would be a waste of the book.
Given the growing controversy over whether polygamy is acceptable in Christianity, the Max Morning Dew crew on Max 89.7FM decided to interview Prophet Dr. Nana Aboh and Sheikh Alhaji Isaka Fafana, who are both religious practitioners of Islam and Christianity, respectively, in order to learn the absolute truth about the place of polygamy in religion.
Although it is a widely held concept that in Christianity it is one man to one wife, Prophet Aboh confessed during the interview that he is a stern believer and executor of polygamy because he has more than one wife.
The entire bible will be useless and have no relevance the moment a verse condemning polygamy is discovered, he asserted.
He went on to say that there is only one Christ and many churches using Christ and the church as examples. As the head, Christ therefore stands in for the man, and the churches for the woman. Thus, a head can have numerous wives.
He added that “Polygamy is a nature of God and everyone He walked with.”
