MAX GPL: Oly Dade humble Asante Kotoko 2-0

Date:

Michael Osei and Emmanuel struck to deliver a well-deserved 2-0 win over title chasers Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, to lift their side of the relegation zone.

Accra Great Olympics started the game on the front foot, barraging the defense of the Porcupine with attacks from every angle.

It didn’t take long before Michael Osei headed the Dade boys into the lead, seven minutes into kick-off.

Samuel Ashie Quaye’s pass found former Kotoko player Christopher Nettey on the left wing, whose cross was fiercely headed in by striker, Michael Osei.

Emmanuel Akesse finished off a blistering counter-attack from a Kotoko corner-kick to double Accra Great Olympics’ lead in the 39th minute.

Asante Kotoko came back with a much-improved performance in the second half.

Coach Abdul Gazale revealed his disappointment in his side’s first-half performance against the Wonder Club where they failed to orchestrate any meaningful attack.

The Porcupine Warriors coach also expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision to send off Richmond Lamptey in the final minutes of the game.

Asante Kotoko will face giant slayers Tamale City in their next match.
