Thursday’s preseason friendly between Arsenal and German team Nurnberg ended in a 1-1 draw, giving Thomas Partey the chance to remind fans of his talents.
Partey reported to his club for pre-season training a week ago despite rumored interest from other teams, and since then, as evidenced by his team’s performance against Nurnberg, he has been working hard.
The Black Stars vice-captain started in midfield for Arsenal and controlled the first half. As a result, Arsenal went into halftime leading 1-0 thanks to Bukayo Saka’s goal in the seventh minute, assisted by Ben White.
Partey and several other players were replaced in the second half, which changed the nature of the match. The game ended in a 1-1 draw as Kanji Okunuki, a Japanese international, managed to tie it up for Nurnberg in the 63rd minute.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder, who still has one year left on his contract with the Gunners, has been the focus of transfer rumors, with Saudi Arabian and Juventus clubs showing interest in him.
