The lawyer for the Kristo Asafo Church, Nana Kofi Kantanka, has accused former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo of firing first in a heated gunfire exchange.
He revealed the exchange occurred during the formal introduction of Akofena Safo as the new leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
The lawyer claimed Adwoa Safo attempted to gain entry by forcing her vehicle through the church gates, revealing she wasn’t invited due to the ongoing succession dispute.
Police have disclosed that six private guards were arrested after the shooting ensued, in which Adwoa Safo sustained injuries.
Photos and videos of her Toyota 4×4 car with bullet holes circulated online as she received treatment at the hospital.
Five pump-action guns, one Taurus pistol loaded with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, an additional magazine loaded with five rounds of 9mm ammunition, and communication equipment.
