Asante Kotoko SC has officially named Kwasi Appiah as the new Head of Sporting Affairs, signaling a significant shift in the club’s administrative and technical setup. This appointment forms part of an ongoing shake-up aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing performance both on and off the pitch.
Kwasi Appiah, who is also the current head coach of the Sudanese national team, previously served as the Technical Director in the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC). His elevation to this new role follows the recent appointment of Asante Kotoko legend Malik Jabir as the club’s Technical Director. This reshuffle reflects the management’s commitment to optimizing expertise within the club’s hierarchy.
As part of the reorganization, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was also a member of the IMC, has been instructed to concentrate exclusively on his responsibilities as the head coach of the first team. This decision is expected to provide Ogum with the focus needed to guide the team to success on the field.
Under the new structure, Malik Jabir and Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will now report directly to Kwasi Appiah. This hierarchical adjustment is designed to improve coordination and ensure a unified approach to the club’s sporting operations.
The reshuffle underscores Asante Kotoko’s ambition to reclaim dominance in Ghanaian and African football by leveraging the experience and expertise of seasoned football professionals. Fans and stakeholders will be keen to see how these changes impact the club’s performance in the coming seasons.
