A CAF Champions League winner has backed Accra Hearts of Oak to win the Ghana Premier League.
Yaw Amankwah Mireku captained Hearts of Oak in one of the glorious periods in the club’s history to continental glory in the year 2000.
The retired legend, known for candid expressions, believes in his former team’s capability to capture the 2024—25 Ghana Premier League.
Despite having recently blamed the players for the ongoing struggles of the club instead of the coach, Abubakar Ouattara, Amankwah remains confident in the team.
“It is a possibility for Hearts to win the league,” he said at the launch of the MaxBuy West Hills Mall branch on Max TV.
The Phobians are currently eleven points adrift of the league leaders, Bibiani Gold Stars. Hearts would have to conjure a never-seen miracle to end up league champions.
