Serhou Guirassy’s hat-trick for Dortmund proved to not be enough as Barcelona progressed to the semi-final of the 2024—25 UEFA Champions League.
The Yellow and Blacks put up a great effort and display in attempting to overturn a 4-0 deficit at the Signa Iduna Park on Tuesday night.
Guirassy cheekily chipped a ‘Panenka’ penalty over Wojciech Szczesny in the 11th minute for the German side’s first of the night.
The Guinean star halved the deficit four minutes after the break, but Ramy Bensebaini sliced into his own goal just five minutes later to give the Spanish side a three-goal lead on aggregate.
With 14 minutes left on the clock, Guirassy completed his hat-trick by smashing a poor clearance into the roof of the Barcelona net.
Barcelona will face either Inter Milan or Bayern Munich.
