GPL Week 24 Preview: Hearts travel to Bechem, Kotoko host Dwarfs as Olympics play Aduana

Date:

Week 24 games of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will be played at various league centres on May 12 and 13, 2021.

This week’s game will see some mouth-watering fixtures as Kotoko host Dwarfs, Hearts travelling Bechem and Great Olympics clashing with Aduana Stars.

1 Bechem United vs Hearts of Oak

Hearts bounced back from their defeat to Dreams FC as they beat King Faisal 2-0.

They will play Bechem today May 12 with a lot of confidence because they won their last meeting with them 6-2.

Hearts of Oak have not really had joy playing Bechem United away from home and failed to win in their last three attempts.

Hearts go into the game 4th on the table and Bechem United lie 7th. The game will be live on StarTimes at 3:00 pm.

2. Berekum Chelsea vs Ashanti Gold SC

Both teams have failed to win any of their last two games.

Berekum Chelsea lost to Aduana last weekend and Ashanti Gold also drew with struggling Eleven Wonders.

The miners are 10th on the league log with 31 points while the Bibires are 13th on the league log with 27points.

3. Dreams vs King Faisal

Dreams FC will host relegation-threatened side, King Faisal, at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu.

The game which comes off at 3:00 pm on May 12, 2021, will see a fiercely contested match.

Dreams lost to Kotoko in week 23 and King Faisal also lost to Hearts of Oak.

The first leg of this fixture ended 1-1 and King Faisal who sit 17th on the table will want a win to move out of the relegation zone.

4. Eleven Wonders vs Inter Allies

Eleven Wonders have gotten themselves out of the relegation zone but are still in the fight.

They beat Aduana Stars before managing to draw 1-1 with Ashanti Gold in week 23.

For Inter Allies, it’s been a tough season. Rooted firmly at the bottom of the table but they managed to beat Elmina Sharks last week.

5. Elmina Sharks vs Karela

Karela who had a perfect start to the season suffered a bit of a setback but have bounced back to beat Bechem United 2-1 at Anyinase.

They travel to Elmina to play Sharks who lost their last game 2-0 to struggling Inter Allies.

The first leg of this fixture ended 3-1 in favour of Karela.

6. Medeama SC vs WAFA

With an unbeaten record in their last five games, Medeama SC will hope to climb to the top of the league when they trade tackles with WAFA at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa. With a rejuvenated attacking force, the mauve and yellows will like to bounce back after a disappointing draw with Liberty Professionals in their last fixture. WAFA on the other hand lost 3-2 at home against Great Olympics in their last fixture.

7. Legon Cities vs Liberty Professionals
The relegation battle is on this week as 14th placed Legon Cities battle it out with 16th placed Liberty Professionals. With only a point separating the two sides, the game would be an exciting one as both teams will do everything on the field to glean all three points.

8. Kotoko vs Ebusua Dwarfs

League Leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play host to Ebusua Dwarfs on May 13, 2021, at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

Kotoko leads the table with 41 points and have won their last two games in the GPL. This will be a tall order for Ebusua Dwarfs.

Kotoko will be looking to extend their stay at the top of the table. The game will be live on StarTimes at 3:00 pm

9. Great Olympics vs Aduana Stars.

Many have dubbed this as the ‘Game of the week’. Great Olympics beat WAFA 3-2 at Sogakope in week 23 and currently sit second with 40 points.

They have been in good form this season and are beginning to believe they can challenge for the title.

Aduana Stars on the other hand have had a very topsy-turvy season and currently sit 8th on the table.

The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 13, 2021. This game will be live on StarTimes and Max TV at 6:00 pm.
