GPL: Samartex beat King Faisal in Samreboi

Date:

Samartex defeated King Faisal 1-0 on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, handing them their first loss in six games.

Within 14 minutes, Raymond Kwoffie’s goal put the two teams apart and gave their campaign new energy.

The Timber Giants had a chance to double their lead from 12 yards just after the half-hour mark, but they blew it.

Samuel Kusi acted carelessly in bringing down goal scorer Kwoffie inside the penalty area.

However, Faisal goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu saved Emmanuel Kyeyekeh’s penalty kick.

Samartex is now ranked 11th on the table.
