Kumasi Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways following a winless nine-match run, as they defeated league leaders FC Samartex 1-0 at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Enoch Morrison scored the winner on the hour mark after the center referee, George Mawuli Vormawah, made a very questionable decision to point to the penalty spot.
Peter Aminu Acquah was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty box when he attempted to connect to right-back Emmanuel Kotei’s low cross from the right.
Many, nevertheless, could disagree with referee Mawuli’s ruling after seeing the replays.
Asante Kotoko matched Samartex in the midfield as the likes of Emmanuel Keyeke and Emmanuel Osei Owusu were not able to pose much threat, leading to head coach Nurudeen’s decision to take off the duo.
