Ghana ready for 2025 Aquatics

Date:

Ghana is set to make waves at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, with four swimmers representing the nation from July 27 to August 3.

Led by Ghana Swimming Association President Delphina Quaye and General Secretary Muniru Kassim, the team departs Accra on July 23.

Veteran swimmer Abeiku Jackson headlines the squad, competing in the 50m and 100m butterfly, as well as the 4x100m mixed freestyle and mixed medley relays. Jackson remains Ghana’s top swimmer, having secured the country’s first-ever swimming medals at the African Games.

He is joined by Harry Stacey, a standout at the 2024 Olympic Games and medalist at the 2024 Africa Aquatics Championships in Angola. Stacey will swim the 50m and 100m freestyle and participate in the relay events.

Rising talent Joselle Mensah, who featured at the 2023 African Games and 2024 Olympics, will contest the freestyle sprints and relays. Mensah also boasts multiple medals from the CANA Zone II Championship.

Rounding out the team is experienced swimmer Nubia Adjei, former national record holder in the 100m backstroke. She will compete in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and the mixed relays.

The Ghanaian quartet is hopeful of leaving a lasting impression on the world stage.
