Football may be his first love, but Kurt Okraku is also an avid lover of boxing.
Mr Okraku, who happens to be the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), called for the development of more infrastructure for boxing across the country.
Though Accra appears to be the boxing capital of Ghana, the GFA President believes other talents are scattered across the country, waiting to be discovered.
“Big investments in amateur leagues are the way. And plus, of course, more boxing arenas. “I think that the sport is played mainly in Accra, but I am sure there are talents in other parts of the country,” Mr Okraku said to Max TV at Legacy Rise Sports’ “Battle of the Beast” boxing event on Friday, June 13.
Boxing promotions such as the IMAX Boxing Promotions and Legacy Rise Sports have shown immense commitment to the development of amateur boxers in Ghana.
H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s administration under the trusted guidance of Hon. Kofi Adams in the sports sector, Ghanaians can expect the development of the boxing discipline to rise to a higher level for the production of world champions.
