The hearing of the injunction motion filed against the elections for the Ghana Football Association in 2023 has been postponed once more by the Accra High Court.
The case’s hearing, which was supposed to take place today, September 19, has been postponed until September 28, 2023.
King Faisal Football Club requested an injunction to force the GFA to hold elections for National League Clubs, Regional Football Associations, and component entities before those for the Executive Council and GFA Presidential seat.
The lawyers involved concurred to reassemble for the hearing of the matter, which has been waiting for a while, on September 28 during a virtual court session on Tuesday.
King Faisal wants the hiatus to continue because they think it is incorrect and illegal to announce the opening of nominations for the GFA President election before elections are held for the Executive Committee representatives.
The former Ghana Premier League team asserts that the defendant is gravely in violation of its own statutes as per articles 30, 31(1), 32(2)(q), and 37(1) of the GFA Statutes 2019.
The 2023 election process has been suspended by the Ghana Football Association pending the outcome of the hearing of the case.
