The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has assured of the readiness of Accra Sports Stadium to host the Democracy Cup.
The second edition of the Democracy Cup is expected to come off on … at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics will take on each other in what promises to be an exciting encounter, which will draw a large spectatorship and viewership.
Speaking at the launch of the Democracy Cup at the Parliament House on Thursday, July 24, 2025, Mr. Ampofo Ankrah stated the pitch would be in the best of conditions to host the much-anticipated match.
“We are very happy to host this year’s Democracy Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium, and we believe that the pitch will be the finest it has ever been so that we can see beautiful football,” he said.
The members of parliament will take on retired Black Stars players in a curtain raiser before the main event —the Accra derby —Hearts of Oak vs. Great Olympics.
