COPO Awards ’22: Comedian OB Amponsah wins best comedian of the year award

Date:

The Best Comedian of the Year award has been given to Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah.

This occurred during the third Comedy and Poetry Awards (COPO), which took place at the AH Hotel in East Legon on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

To win the night’s grand prize, OB—as he is affectionately known—bested Clemento Suarez, Jacinta Ocansey, Akrobeto, and Aka Ebenezer.

The host of the “WMT” radio show, who was one of the performers at the evening’s awards ceremony, also won honors for Best Headline Comedian of the Year and Best Radio Comedy Show of the Year.

This year, the COPOs presented thirty honors.

The awards program, which is run by Dennis Boateng of Creative Republic Limited, aims to honor poets and comedians in Ghana.
