Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup Final ended in chaos as PSG manager Luis Enrique appeared to lash out at Joao Pedro, leaving the Chelsea forward on the ground.
Tensions flared moments after the final whistle at the MetLife Stadium, when Enrique confronted the Chelsea camp over their celebrations. In the heat of the exchange, the Spanish coach struck Pedro in the neck or face area, causing the Blues’ new signing to collapse to the turf.
PSG staff quickly pulled Enrique away, while goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also aggressively confronted several Chelsea players. The altercation triggered heated arguments between both sides as Pedro remained down.
Officials and team staff intervened to restore order, but the incident cast a shadow over what had been a dominant and historic night for Chelsea.
