CHAN 2022: Football is played on the pitch – Madagascar coach after beating Ghana

Date:

Romuald Rakotondrabe, the head coach of Madagascar, has retaliated against the Ghanaian delegation for dismissing his team before their match in the ongoing CHAN tournament in 2022.

After defeating the Black Galaxies 2-1 in their first appearance in the CHAN, the Madagascans pulled off the first surprise in the ongoing competition in Algeria.

While criticizing the Ghanaians and asserting that football is played on the field, Romuald Rakotondrabe complimented his squad for their historic triumph in their first game.

“I am very proud of my players and what they have produced tonight. They beat the favourites and as I mentioned yesterday, the game of football is played on the pitch and not on paper,” he said this at the post-match conference.

The Atlas Lions B team did not show up for its game against Sudan in the first round of games, thus the points have been awarded to Madagascar, who will play Morocco on Thursday, January 19.

On the other hand, Sudan will square off against The Black Galaxies on January 19, 2023.
