Following the news of his first call-up to the Black Stars, Jonathan Sowah scored twice for Medeama Sporting Club in the season-opener for 2023–2024 on Sunday night at the Cape Coast Stadium, helping the team capture the Champions of Champions trophy.
Both clubs prepared well for their matchup between Medeama SC and Dreams FC in an effort to claim the season’s first trophy.
The reigning League winners grabbed the lead in the 19th minute after a strong opening period through new Black Stars striker Jonathan Sowah.
Five minutes later, the former beach soccer sensation scored his second goal for Medeama to give his team the lead.
Even though Dreams FC managed to score a goal late in the game, it wasn’t enough to prevent the MTN FA Cup champions from losing.
