CAC church boycotted my wedding and disgraced me – Nhyira Betty

Date:

Inspirational gospel chanteuse Nhyira Betty has disclosed how her church, Christ Apostolic Church International, popularly called CAC, disgraced and boycotted her marriage ceremony during the time her ministry began.

Though she did not go into details about the incident that triggered the action of the church, she said her church failed to grace her marriage ceremony and also reprimanded her.

The “Barima Ena” hitmaker revealed this during an interview with Max Drive on Max FM in Accra on Wednesday when she outlined all the tribulations she passed through as a Christian and a singer whose ministry was then budding.

“After the launch of my song ‘Yebedwiri,’ the church claimed it raised funds for me, but I did not get a dime from the said money the church raised. Things became very difficult for me to the extent that it was hard for me to feed myself.”

“In the midst of that, I packed out from Accra New Town to Kumasi, where I was marrying. A person like me who sings in church right from the age of six, none of the church members came to support me during my marriage ceremony,” she lamented.

She recalled that a lady named Aboagyewaa was the only person who graced her important occasion.

“After everything they did, they also called me in front of the congregation and disgraced me, so I felt shattered,” she sadly said.

Nhyira Betty indicated that the church did so many acts against her, and it got to a point that she gave up and left for Amsterdam. For seven years, she said she never worshipped at CAC.

“However, an incident happened where a prophetess prophesied that I should return to the church because God was about to do something great about my singing ministry,” she said.

Nhyira Betty noted that God wanted to use all those who disgraced her in the church as witnesses for her blessings.

“God wanted to give me a mark for people to recognize me. He wanted to give me more testimonies and witnesses of the blessings he had installed for me. So when I heeded and returned, I got someone in the church to invest in my crafts, and I traveled to many countries,” she added.

Nhyira Betty then advised Christians not to give up because the righteous was the one who passed through a series of tribulations, adding that “they should always bear in mind that God would let grace reign over their disgrace.”
