Black Stars forwards, Brandon Thomas Asante and Jordan Ayew scored on Tuesday night, as their respective sides, Coventry City and Leicester City progressed to the next round of the 2024-25 Carabao Cup.
The Ghanaian internationals have hit form just in time for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola on September 5 in Kumasi.
Both forwards were making their full debut for their new sides in the Carabao Cup second round after joining during the summer transfer window.
Ayew found the back of the net first in Leicester City’s 4-0 home win over Tranmere Rovers, while Asante scored the only goal in Coventry’s 1-0 triumph over Oxford United.
The two forwards are expected to be named on Otto Addo’s list for the Black Stars game against the Palancas Negras.
