Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has slammed various award schemes in the country for not nominating any of his diss tracks to award him for it.
According to him, the stakeholders are not inclined with the modern way of doing things and termed their act as barbaric.
Speaking in a Tiktok live video on Thursday, the “Joe Lese” crooner stated that American rapper, Kendrick Lamar had won the Grammys with his diss song while in Ghana diss songs are less regarded.
“You say Shatta’s diss songs are full of profane so you will not award me. Without your award, I have made money. Now I bought my Rolls Royce, living in my own mansion,” he stated.
Shatta Wale further expressed the need for the country to take a second look at diss songs to promote talents and musicians.
His speech has sparked conversations on the internet on how the country could leverage on diss tracks to keep the industry vibrant, competitive and to promote talents.
