The much-anticipated Final Draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 takes place today, Monday, 27 January 2025, at the iconic Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat. 

The event will determine the group stage opponents for the 24 qualified teams and is expected to provide plenty of drama, excitement, and anticipation across Africa.

The 24 teams qualified for the tournament are:

Notably, 12 of the 24 teams have previously won the AFCON title, sharing an impressive total of 28 championships among them. Egypt is the record holder with seven titles, followed by Cameroon (five), and Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria (three each).

  • Morocco: The hosts dominated Group B in the qualifiers with a perfect record (18 points), scoring 26 goals and conceding only two.
  • Algeria: Topped Group 5 with 16 points, scoring 16 goals and conceding two.
  • Senegal: Topped Group 12 with 16 points, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one.
  • Other teams like Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia also impressed with solid performances.

  • Essam El Hadary (Egypt): Record-breaking goalkeeper with four AFCON titles.
  • Patrick Mboma (Cameroon): Two-time AFCON champion and former African Footballer of the Year.

  • Mustapha Hadji (Morocco): Iconic Moroccan playmaker and former star.

Draw Procedure

The 24 teams will be placed into six groups of four. The top two teams in each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the knockout stage.
