Algeria part ways with Petković

Date:

Vladimir Petković’s time as head of the Algerian Football Federation has come to an end.

According to several sources, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has decided to terminate the Swiss coach’s contract, just one month after its extension.

This decision comes in the wake of Algeria’s elimination in the round of 32 of the World Cup.

This premature exit convinced the Algerian leadership to move on, despite the recent contract extension, a choice now widely criticized.

The federation delegation is expected in Algiers to begin discussions on the profile of the future national team coach.
