AFCON 23 Q: Bafana Bafana coach elated after win over Morocco

Date:

South African coach Hugo Broos was delighted with his team’s performance and victory over Morocco. In a post-match interview, Broos expressed his excitement and happiness about the result.
He emphasized that while winning was important, he was even more pleased with the progress his team had made in recent months.
The match saw South Africa, also known as Bafana Bafana, secure a 2-1 home win over Morocco, a FIFA World Cup semi-finalist. South Africa took the lead through an own-goal by Munir Mohamadi and extended their advantage with a goal from Zakhele Lepasa.
However, Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech managed to score a goal to reduce the deficit, but it was not enough to change the outcome of the match.
The victory for South Africa would have likely been seen as a significant achievement, considering the stature of Morocco as a strong footballing nation.
