AFCON 2023: Ghana to open camp on new year’s eve

The selected players of the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, will fly in for their pre-2023 AFCON camping on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

The Ghana Football Association on Monday, December 25, in an official statement, confirmed Johannesburg, South Africa, as the team’s camping destination before heading out to Abidjan for the tournament.

Ghana will then face South African side Botswana in a preparational match in Johannesburg on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Ghana is set to kick off their group stage campaign against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024—that is, in 18 days.
