Celebrated Diplomatic Consultant, Farouk Al-Wahab, has laid into the Black Stars Head Coach Search Committee.
The Committee was constituted by a collaboration between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in response to the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation on the back of an intense public backlash.
The setup was necessitated following former Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz’s departure courtesy of a disgraceful start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
According to Al-Wahab in a conversation on the Sports Pack Show, there is no need for a Search Committee because the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have their next coach in mind.
“And after application, do you think the committee is going to recommend a coach to the GFA? No. The GFA knows the coach they want to bring, so they should name it, and let’s go.”
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, a joint statement by the GFA, Sports Ministry, and Search Committee announced an interim technical team to lead the Black Stars in the games against Somalia in November.
