Rodrigo Caetano, executive director of the Brazilian national teams, has confirmed the country will continue with Carlo Ancelotti as head coach.
The Seleção suffered a not-so shocking 2-1 defeat at the hands of Erling Haaland and his Viking teammates in the round of 16.
Despite this early exit, the Brazilian Football Federation appears to be maintaining its confidence in the Italian coach, who arrived with the ambition of rebuilding the national team.
For his part, Carlo Ancelotti has also dismissed any notion of leaving. The former Real Madrid boss believes that this disappointment should serve as a starting point for building a more competitive squad.
“We have to keep working, improve, and find new ideas. I believe this defeat is not the end but the start of a new cycle,” Caetano said.
