Prophet William Gyimah, the General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police.
Service for reportedly making death threats against the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, in a viral video.
Based on the police, the operation was carried out by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Kasoa following intelligence gathered through social media.
“Prophet William Gyimah has since been handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation,” a statement from the CVET said.
The police administration urges the public and media houses to refrain from using their platforms to circulate content that threatens the peace and security of the state and also guaranteed to notify the public with updates.
