Police Arrests 10 Suspects Including Chinese Nationals for Cable Theft

The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten suspects after discovering stolen ECG cables, DCOP Lydia Donkor has confirmed.

The arrests took place at Kpone in Industrial Tema after a joint CID and Ministry of Energy operation uncovered a large stash of stolen ECG cables.

The suspects, who are believed to be part of an organised cable theft and metal export syndicate, were nabbed on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

The joint team raided Sentuo Company, located at the Kpone industrial area near Tema, and discovered 70 employees of the company cutting stolen ECG cables into pieces and compressed into metal blocks believed to be exported later.

Over 100 drums of service cables belonging to ECG were also discovered at the scene where the ten suspects, including two Ghanaians, Samuel Ekpe and Priscilla Padu, and the rest, Chinese nationals.
