Accra — Highlife musician Nana Kwame Ampah, known in the showbiz circles as Quarme Zaggy, has expressed concern about constantly being described as unauthentic for sounding like colleague Kwabena Kwabena.
According to him, he has been looked down upon over the years in the industry with the tag of not sounding original.
Speaking in an interview with Max Drive in Accra on Friday, Quarme Zaggy stated that Ghanaians had to give him his spot after producing quality tracks for over 15 years.
“I have been in the game since 2009, and I am not new to the game. I think by now people should know me. They have to stop describing me as a person who is mimicking and doesn’t sound original. I have been in the game for a while. I have produced lots of good songs,” he explained.
Quarme Zaggy insisted that he is a refined art and should be embraced as such.
”The fact that my voice sounds like someone does not make me less of an artist,” he added.
