One Dead, 37 Others Injured In Accra-Kumasi Accident

One person has been confirmed dead, while 37 others sustained injuries in an accident at Mankrong on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.

A Zhong Tong bus (AS 7022-21) was involved in a head-on collision with a Man Diesel truck (GW 3969-U) on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

The deceased, along with the other injured, was extricated from the wreckage by the rescue crew from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, who arrived at the scene at 7:07 a.m.

All 37 of the injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at the Suhum Government Hospital.

The occupants of the truck were reported to have escaped the collision unhurt after the bus, travelling at high speed, according to an eyewitness account, rammed into it.
