GPL: Medeama Defeated; Hearts Still Unbeaten

Date:

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) continued over the weekend with some exciting results after matchday three.

Kpando Heart of Lions displace former champions Medeama SC at the summit of the league standings courtesy of a Michael Ephson winner at home.

At the Aliu Mahama Stadium up in the North, Karela United stuttered Medeama’s charge for this season’s league crown with a 1-0 victory over them.

Felix Morto netted the only goal after coming into the game from the bench, as Zaidan Mohammed received the MVP award.

While their regional rivals Asante Kotoko enjoyed continental success in Nigeria, Nations FC were held at home to a goalless result by FC Samartex.

Newly promoted Hohoe United received a reality check as they suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Vision FC on Sunday, as the Young Apostles game against Dreams FC was called off when the former led 1-0 due to heavy rains.

Hearts of Oak kicked off the weekend with a 1-0 home win over Eleven Wonders. Enoch Assubonteng with the winner for the Phobians.
