Kurt Okraku hails “turning point” in women’s football

Date:

Kurt Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), hails a “turning point” in women’s football in Ghana.

The success chalked by the Black Queens of Ghana at the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will serve as an inspiring moment for every young girl out there aspiring to be a footballer.

Each and every one of the Black Queens has become a role model and heroine to many young Ghanaian children after displaying resilience and a winning mentality, which saw them clinch bronze medals.

Currently also the 2nd vice president at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Okraku commended his administration’s committed investments into the women’s game since taking over in 2019.

“The Black Queens’ performance is a testament to the strength, talent, and right investments made in women’s football since this administration took office in 2019,” he said.

Mr. Okraku believes with the backing of President John Dramani’s resetting agenda, not only women’s football will flourish, but the men’s too, and sports in Ghana as a whole.
