Daddy Lumba’s Legacy Will Echo Through the Ages – Westside Travel CEO Eric Owusu Agyemang

Date:

Chief Executive Officer of Westside Travel Services, Eric Owusu Agyemang, has joined the nation in mourning the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, describing him as an “eternal icon whose legacy will echo through the ages.”

Speaking in a heartfelt tribute, Mr. Agyemang said Lumba was not just a musician but a cultural cornerstone whose impact on Ghana’s music and identity will endure for generations.

“We’ve lost more than a legend—we’ve lost a national treasure. Daddy Lumba’s voice carried the emotions, stories, and spirit of the Ghanaian people. His music wasn’t just entertainment; it was therapy, identity, and celebration,” he said.

The CEO, known for steering one of Ghana’s leading travel companies, paused business to honour a man he said “inspired hope, love, and unity through lyrics that transcended time.” According to Mr. Agyemang, Lumba’s music shaped personal memories and collective moments across Ghanaian life—from weddings and celebrations to heartbreaks and reflection.

Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra at the age of 60. Since the news broke, tributes have poured in from all walks of life, underlining his status as a legend of unmatched influence.

“His legacy will echo through the ages. No generation will forget Daddy Lumba. He was not just a sound of his time but a timeless voice for Ghana,” Mr. Agyemang added.

He extended his condolences to the Fosu family and encouraged all Ghanaians to celebrate Lumba’s life by continuing to support Ghanaian music and artists.

A book of condolence has been opened at the late icon’s residence, with a candlelight vigil scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Independence Square.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in the coming days
