His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has assured his immeasurable support for the completion of two major sporting infrastructures in the Ashanti Region.
The Baba Yara Stadium cries for needed improvement works, especially following its ban from hosting international matches by the Confederation of African Football.
Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, minister for sports and recreation, in the company of Hon. Dr Frank Amoakohene (Ashanti Regional Minister), Mrs Wilhemina Asamoah, and Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, embarked on a working tour of the Baba Yara Stadium and Nyinahin Youth Resource Centre.
The team discovered the stadium needed immediate upgrades, especially on the pitch; the floodlights and stands required repairs as Asante Kotoko’s CAF fixtures draws near.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II assured the team that he will personally lead the charge to raise funds for the upgrade of Baba Yara and the completion of the Nyinahin Youth Resource Centre.
“I will lead the fundraising drive among our major mining companies to ensure Baba Yara is match-ready and the Nyinahin Complex is finally completed,” said Otumfuo with a major focus on the mining sector for support.
