JUST IN: Govt directs telcos to raise data bundles by 10–15% from July 1

Date:

The government has directed mobile network operators—MTN, Telecel, and AT—to increase their data bundle offerings starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

At a press briefing on Tuesday, June 10, Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Sam George, said the move is aimed at improving data access and affordability nationwide.

“AT (formerly AT-Tigo) will implement a 10% increase across all existing bundles. For instance, its GHC400 bundle will jump from 195GB to 236GB,” the Minister said.

“Telecel will also apply a 10% increase to all data bundles. Notably, its GHC400 bundle will increase from 90GB to 250GB.”

MTN will implement a 15% increase. “We’re also pleased to announce the return of the GHC399 bundle. It was previously downgraded to GHC350 for 92.88GB, but from July 1, the GHC399 package will be restored to offer 214GB,” he added.
