Daasebre Osei Bonsu II dies aged 86

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the second in command and Mamponghene, has passed on at the fruitful age of 86.

The Mampong Silver Stool Palace made the official announcement of the demise of the occupant of the Silver Stool of Asanteman on Monday, April 28, 2025.

The fontomfrom and atunpan drums were played to re-echo the announcement as part of traditions after the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, had been informed.

A product of the prestigious Prempeh College, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

A high-powered delegation from Mampong, including divisional, sub-chiefs and queen mothers, led by the Mamponghemaa, Nana Agyakoma Difie II, appeared before the occupant of the golden stool of Asanteman, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to officially inform him.
